Jaun Elia Poetry

Introduction

The people who are fond of Urdu poetry must not be unaware of this legend, that happened once in a lifetime to the World of Poetry "Jaun Elia". Jaun was an Indian Muslim born on December 14 in Amroha (Uttar Pradesh India). Jaun was an Urdu Poet, Philosopher, Biographer and a Scholar.

Early Life

Jaun was born in a Shia Muslim family and the youngest of his siblings. During his youth the sub-continent separated and Pakistan became an independent Muslim state. Being a communist he was not in favor of this decision but accepted it later as a compromise. He migrated to Pakistan in 1957 and lived in Karachi. Juan was not just a poet but was also an editor and translator. 

Poetry

Urdu poetry is a rich tradition of poetry and has many different forms. Its an important part of today's South Asian culture. Jaun Elia added a new dimension in Urdu poetry. His poetry was not very conventional and always has depth in it. He is indeed an era that never died. People from all over the world admire Jaun Elia and his poetry.
